Regular Season
Ignition Skates and Season Tryouts
Check back soon for our Ignition Skates and Season Tryout registration for the 2025/26 season. Our club is hosting 2 weeks of Ignition Skates before tryouts begin for players to work on skating, skills, conditioning, and competition. Ignition skates are all about getting off to a fast start. The sessions will be fun with the goal of quickly getting everyone back to game speed. Players will initially be split by grade but expect coaches to move players based on attitude, effort, and impact. Ignition Skates will begin on July 28. Please check oure Events Page for dates and times. Full attendance for the Ignition Skates is not mandatory in order to attend tryouts.
Registration requires a 2025/2026 USA Hockey Membership.
The first night of tryouts will be Monday, August 11. Tryouts will consist of on-ice evaluations as well as an off-ice athleticism assessment (timed run, plank, burpees, push-ups, etc.). Teams will be selected by Friday, August 16. The week will wrap up on Sunday, August 18 with our Orange vs Blue All Program Intrasquad game and skills competition.
Further information on tryouts and the upcoming season will be shared over the coming weeks. For any specific questions please reach out to our Hockey Director, Mike Murphy.
Playing for and representing your school
- You will build lifelong friendships through a built-in network of cohorts across all four grades. There is something great about having your whole team with you in class, the lunchroom, etc. It’s truly one of the great parts of being a high school athlete.
- The ability to wear your school colors with pride and be a part of the winning traditions we have built is invaluable.
- Playing for the club connects you with past Huskies, many of whom return to play in the annual Alumni Game.
- Special events, such as Teacher Appreciation Night and puck drops for other school sports (soccer, field hockey, etc.).
- Annual Senior Night honoring our graduating class.
- Compete in rivalries (Lyons Township, Fenwick, etc) that exist within other sports.
- Active presence on the web and social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
- The convenience of practicing and playing out of a local rink (including the dedicated team room and OPRF locker room).
- A schedule that aligns to high school events such as Homecoming and finals.
- Home games at Ridgeland Common so students, friends and family can watch and cheer.
